There comes that one day of the week you really can’t be bothered to cook your tea. So you venture out in search of a decent place to eat with a reasonable price and a good atmosphere to enjoy your dinner.
We want to know your suggestions for the best pub food around. We sometimes find ourselves stuck going to the same place again and again due to convenience, location and price or purely because we don’t want to go somewhere, pay and it be very disappointed.
Pub food at the chains can sometimes be rather disappointing especially when it comes to Sunday dinner. With its microwaved chewy carrots and hard peas and its preformed packets of meat and stuffing balls. Ergh personally I have had some awful ones and non have compared to the freshly cooked and real veg and slices of meat at the Ingleby Arms in Amcotts.
The selection of meat is good and the vegetables are hot and in big pots for you to dig out and spoon onto your plate. It doesn’t follow the look of a school dinner que format either. Something is a little mundane about standing by a counter and having those metal trays sat out for hours under a lamp moving down the orderly line of people and being handed a few scraps of meat over the counter.
Also another one we seem to favour is The Queensway. Such big portions, some can be expensive but for the amount you get and the meat you get its well worth it. Also the jalapeno chicken wings are something to be desired.
So why not tell us where your favourite Sunday dinner out is? Properly cooked and fresh. Or maybe just the first place you think when someone asks you to go out for tea.
